At Lincoln University, we want to make sure you have everything you need to succeed here. That's why we're committed to the wellness of all of our students, and that includes physical, mental, and spiritual health.
Lincoln's Office of Religious Activities and Mary Dod Brown Chapel offer religious activities, services, and guidance to interested students. We strive to support your development, character, and spiritual growth while providing opportunities to explore and respect a variety of worship and faith traditions.
The Chapel also aims to serve as Lincoln's moral compass, and encourage you to contribute to and better our on-campus community, as well our larger community and country beyond Lincoln.
The Chapel is a learning laboratory, complementing your intellectual development in the classroom with worship experiences that enable opportunities for you to practically apply skills that can contribute to your personal success.
You can be actively involved in the conception and implementation of Chapel programs. This involvement facilitates the development of communication skills, critical thinking, organization, and the presentation of projects. These transferable skills will support your career and professional interests, helping you to stand out from other candidates when applying for a job, and giving you the confidence to take charge and lead.
The Chapel is also an anchor for Lincoln alumni, encouraging fidelity to Lincoln traditions of integrity and excellence. It helps to provide a meeting place and vital nexus for present and past students, giving you the opportunity to meet and form connections with your Lincoln peers from other classes and urging alumni support for future growth and development of the University.
Finally, the Chapel is an ambassador for the university. Through its programs on and off the Lincoln campus, the Chapel sponsors a variety of joint ministries, concerts, revivals, and leadership training sessions that positively represent Lincoln University to the larger Philadelphia community and generates support for the institution.
In keeping with an ever-changing student population, the Chapel recognizes and embraces the diverse range of religious beliefs held by our students. Therefore, we are intentional in seeking to expose, teach and discuss subjects that deal with spiritual, physical, and emotional aspects of the lives of college students facing the 21st century.
In addition to the Chapel, Lincoln is also home to an Islamic Prayer Room for our Muslim students, located in the Living Learning Center.
The University Chaplain, Chaplain Assistants, student leaders, Lincoln Administrators and various Faith Development National scholars and theologians teach and lead in both the Sunday morning worship experience as well as Bible Study, conferences, seminars, and other activities.
